GUIDED TOUR Standing Guides

GUIDED TOUR Tales at the museum: about the sewers and its inhabitants

EXTRA MUROS On the lookout – SOLD OUT

If you have questions about building accessibility and/or activities, please contact the museum directly.

Experience an authentic sewer of the city of Brussels, stroll along the Senne and discover the little-known but ever so important profession of a sewage worker. Descend deep into the bowels of the city for this unique experience!

EXPO For this first theme year, the museum focuses on the rat. This little mammal has a story to tell at the museum! Today we know more about polar bears and dolphins, while the rat has lived in our immediate environment for centuries! The aim of this exhibition is to talk about this species with neither complexes nor prejudices. They may not be wanted, but still managed to adapt incredibly well to the artificial environment of our cities.

GUIDED TOUR Everything you always wanted to know… ‘Standing guides’ are ready to answer your questions about the world of sewers and rats.

GUIDED TOUR Tales of sewer dwellers, inner and outer. The sewers are a subterranean world of water, long corridors and dark inhabitants. Rats? Sure. Crocodiles? Perhaps. Rats live below and above ground in a separate world. Although, stories about rats also tell about people, and about Brussels. Narrator Selle de Vos unravels the world of sewers and their inhabitants.

EXTRA MUROS Nature and biodiversity in the city are often seen as a blessing in disguise. But some species, like rats, pigeons and mice, are just not that popular. In the company of Thomas Jean, photographer of the exhibition Rattus, take a look at the city centre’s wildlife. These species and their amazing ability to adapt to human activities, buildings and urban development will no longer hold any secrets from you. (Activity in French only).

This activity is currently sold out. Any cancellations will release places immediately and you can register via the reservation link.
