Maurice Carême’s house: in the intimacy of poetry

The poet Maurice Carême (1933-1978), known in particular for his poems inspired by childhood, lived in this little white house where time has stood still. Here, you will be immersed in the intimacy of his writing. You will discover the world that inspired the poet and the long process that led from the first draft to the published book. You can also discover the works of artist friends such as Felix De Boeck and Jules Lismonde.

GUIDED TOUR In 1925, Maurice Carême published his first collection of poems: 63 illustrations for a game of goose. For the poet, the spiral of the game of the goose is a metaphor for life. Embark on a guided tour of the house, set to the rhythm of poems inspired by the squares of the famous game.
